Job title: PAUT/SWUT Tech
About the Role Acuren Inspection is recruiting for PAUT/SWUT Tech to support our operation in Portland, OR. Local candidates in Portland or surrounding area or those open to relocation are preferred due to role requirements.
What You'll Do
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities using NDT methods (PAUT, SWUT, UT, UTPA, CR, DR, and related methods).
- Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
- Apply testing criteria per applicable specifications and standards; evaluate results.
- Identify, track, manage and mitigate risk on specific client engagements; escalate as needed to protect quality, budget and schedule.
- Review asset documentation and operational data, including inspection data, monitoring and auditing of NDE activities.
- Complete integrity assessments including physical site walkdowns when required.
- Prepare project reports detailing work performed, conclusions and recommendations.
- Perform specialized inspections and develop techniques for customer certifying agents approval.
- May instruct and supervise others.
- Possess extensive knowledge of ASME and API requirements and procedures for continued serviceability of equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of industry health and safety policies and procedures.
- Interface with customers regarding schedules and problem solving; use applicable software and computer equipment.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Technical background in NDT (PAUT/SWUT/UT/UTPA/CR/DR, etc.) and procedures with five years of experience.
- Current NDT certifications in these methods; UT, UTPA, PAUT, SWUT, CR, DR, etc. required.
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret inspection results.
- Knowledge of NDT equipment and best practices.
- Based in Portland, OR or the surrounding area, or open to relocating.
- Able to travel as needed.
