About the Role The Patient Care Technician (PCT) in inpatient units works under RN supervision to deliver direct patient care, document observations, and help ensure safe, compassionate care. This role supports care delivery and accurate record-keeping across shifts. What You'll Do
- Partner with the RN and healthcare team to achieve patient care outcomes and goals of care as identified in the plan of care.
- Perform specific tasks directed by the RN and other healthcare team members per competency education.
- Obtain, record and enter data into the EMR; maintain accurate and compliant documentation of patient care.
- Verbally present factual, concise, and timely patient care data to the RN, team, patients and/or family members in a professional manner.
- If you have requested to learn telesitter, demonstrate understanding and proficiency with the telesitter software; maintain visual observation at all times and respond to patient needs via 2-way audio; promptly summon nursing staff as needed; ensure safe hand-offs at each care transition.
- Maintain patient and workplace safety by preventing errors, accidents and infections; report concerns immediately.
- Prioritize multiple simultaneous situations and communicate effectively with hospital staff and patients. What We're Looking For
- Completion of nursing assistant or equivalent course; six months of nursing assistant experience preferred.
- Fluent English; basic Microsoft Office skills; multitasking and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to monitor up to 15 patients on one screen and remain alert while on duty.
- Strong communication skills with patients (mic/headset) and hospital staff; ability to respond quickly to behavioral changes.
- Ability to work under RN supervision and use discretion and courtesy in interactions with patients, visitors, and staff. Nice to Have
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and telesitter software. Compensation & Benefits
- Sign-On Bonus: $3,000 paid over 1 year for full-time positions.
