About the Role The Patient Care Technician - Intermediate Care Unit (3EN) at Endeavor Health in Arlington Heights, IL supports RNs/LPNs by delivering direct patient care and unit assistance during night shifts. This role focuses on patient safety, comfort, and efficient unit operations under supervision. What You'll Do
- Assist patients with personal care needs (bathing, grooming, oral care, eating, bedpan/urinal, positioning) and respond to patient call lights under RN/LPN supervision.
- Assist with exercising and ambulating patients; use proper body mechanics and ensure safety.
- Obtain vital signs, input/output checks, accu-checks; report abnormalities to the nurse.
- Perform procedures as directed (e.g., EKGs, perineal care, Foley bag management, application of restraints, backrubs).
- Collect specimens (urine, feces, sputum) and deliver as necessary; document basic patient care in EMR.
- Aid nursing and clerical staff with admitting, discharging, transferring, ambulating, transporting, and observing patients; answer unit phones and direct calls.
- May perform duties of an Observation Assistant as needed. What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited CNA course with CNA certification, EMT or paramedic training, or current enrollment in an accredited nursing program with at least one major clinical medical or surgical rotation.
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association. Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay: $18.84 - $27.32 (USD).
