About the Role Logan Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a professional, compassionate Patient Access Representative to support patients through registration and financial clearance, and to help create a smooth, welcoming, and organized experience from the moment they arrive. This role will be one of the first points of contact during care and will verify information, process payments, and connect patients with financial resources as needed. While currently based at the Kalispell location, assignments may change as Logan Health moves toward a centralized Patient Access model. What You'll Do
- Complete patient registrations based on acuity level, clinical direction, and department protocol.
- Gather and verify patient demographic, insurance, and visit-specific information.
- Ensure accurate entry of critical patient and insurance data.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits through insurance verification systems.
- Calculate and communicate patient out-of-pocket responsibility when appropriate.
- Collect and process payments for current services and previous balances.
- Refer self-pay patients to financial counseling according to department procedure.
- Maintain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, third-party payer requirements, insurance guidelines, pre-authorization and referral requirements, and accepted insurance plans.
- Identify insurance plans accurately within applicable systems and understanding contract requirements.
- Communicate customer service concerns and process improvement opportunities to leadership.
- Meet productivity and quality expectations while taking ownership of your work.
- Provide administrative support to help assigned areas operate effectively and efficiently.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership. What We're Looking For
- Required: Related coursework beyond high school or experience in a complex administrative support position.
- Required: Minimum of one year of experience in a customer service-focused position.
- Required: Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn additional software programs as needed.
- Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Required: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Required: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Required: Ability to act with integrity, kindness, and empathy.
- Required: Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Required: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Preferred: Previous experience in registration, scheduling, financial clearance, patient financial services, insurance verification, billing, or certified medical assisting.
- Preferred: Strong working knowledge of healthcare insurance and benefit programs.
- Preferred: Knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding.
- Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. Nice to Have

- Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
