Job title: Patient Access Manager
About the Role Under the direction of the Director of Revenue Cycle, the Patient Access Manager leads all patient access functions including Registration/admitting. This role organizes personnel and prioritizes workflow to ensure an effective and efficient registration process.
What You'll Do
- Provide supervisory leadership: hire, orient, train, schedule, evaluate, and manage disciplinary matters for staff.
- Ensure efficient, customer-oriented patient registration and admitting processes; monitor and redesign workflows to maximize efficiency.
- Maintain departmental documentation, training, policies, and performance improvement data; ensure data integrity in Meditech and related systems.
- Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Cycle and other leaders to support revenue cycle initiatives, system enhancements, and change management impacting pre-registration.
- Develop and maintain staffing schedules; monitor departmental efficiencies and on-call responsiveness after hours.
- Address customer concerns, ensure timely documentation for personnel management, DNV, and performance improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree; five+ years of hospital registration experience; three+ years supervisory experience.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills; knowledge of medical terminology; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze performance data and use metrics to improve workflows, quality, and service outcomes.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in healthcare registration, scheduling, pre-registration, clinic operations, or revenue cycle operations.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and registration/financial systems and standard office software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information per HIPAA and organizational standards; strong customer service orientation and de-escalation skills; ability to work independently in a high-volume environment.
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state guidelines within a county medical facility.
- Five+ years supervisory experience.
- Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field.
