About the Role Remote-based patient access liaison focused on helping individuals overcome barriers to access and adhere to prescribed therapies. You will blend empathy with operational expertise to navigate insurance processes, interpret benefits, and resolve coverage challenges like appeals and prior authorizations. The role relies on cross-functional collaboration and meticulous compliance, including documenting interactions in a CRM and adhering to SOPs and HIPAA.
What You'll Do
- Build strong partnerships with healthcare providers, reimbursement liaisons, and internal teams to ensure seamless care transitions and share insights that improve overall access.
- Navigate buy-and-bill or physician-administered therapies; perform benefit verification, prior authorizations, appeals, and payer reimbursement strategies (including CPT/HCPCS coding).
- Coordinate with specialty pharmacies to troubleshoot logistics, manage treatment scheduling, and guide enrollment in financial assistance or copay programs.
- Document all interactions within a CRM system in compliance with SOPs and HIPAA, and contribute to bilateral treatment planning.
- Support cross-functional collaboration and meticulous compliance across roles to maintain quality and patient satisfaction.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years’ experience in patient access, reimbursement, case management, or healthcare navigation (pharma/biotech/specialty pharmacy/HCP setting preferred)
- Strong knowledge of buy-and-bill or physician-administered therapies
- Proven skills in benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, and payer reimbursement strategies (including CPT/HCPCS coding)
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce, PowerBI) and digital communication tools
- Understanding of HIPAA, FDA, OIG, and pharmacovigilance requirements
- Ability to support bilateral treatment planning
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, social work, healthcare administration, life sciences, or related field (advanced degree or certification a plus)
- Prior Authorization Certified Specialist (PACS) credential preferred
