Job title: Pastoral Support Officer

About the Role Digitech Studio School in Warmley is seeking a passionate Pastoral Support Officer to support wellbeing, personal development and academic success. This is a permanent role with 37 hours per week (full-time), term-time only plus inset days, starting September 2026 (subject to pre-employment checks).

What You'll Do

  • Provide high-quality pastoral support, including mentoring, behaviour and attendance interventions, and safeguarding guidance
  • Act as main pastoral contact for a designated year group, building positive relationships with students, families, colleagues and external agencies
  • Collaborate to create an inclusive environment, support personal development and help students overcome barriers to learning
  • Liaise with external agencies and contribute to meetings to support student outcomes
  • Manage information accurately and securely using paper-based and MIS systems
  • Travel as required; hold a full driving licence or be willing to meet travel requirements
  • Participate in meetings, interventions and activities beyond the school day when required

What We're Looking For

  • Passion for working with children and young people; commitment to improving students' life chances
  • Emotional resilience; ability to work under pressure
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Understanding of safeguarding in education and ability to respond appropriately to concerns
  • Knowledge of inclusion, raising achievement and current issues in student support
  • Ability to manage information securely using MIS; strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience in a school or similar setting with responsibility for student welfare and raising achievement
  • Experience liaising with external agencies and contributing to meetings
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle, or willingness to travel
  • MIDAS qualification or willingness to undertake this qualification
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including attending meetings beyond the school day when required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: £27,362-£29,850 actual annual salary; Full-time equivalent salary £31,954-£34,860 (CLF Grade D)
