Job title: Parts Manager

About the Role The Parts Manager leads CFAO Mobility's parts department in South Africa, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction while maintaining agreed profit margins and market share, and delivering a satisfactory parts service to other dealership departments.

What You'll Do

  • Report on monthly/quarterly agreed performance ratios, comparing actual with targeted performance and report all variances in budget to General Manager on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Report daily to the General Manager on sales, unit-downs and daily perpetual stock takes. The Parts Manager will also manage various computer reports (daily, weekly, monthly) and analyse them to correct inefficiencies, filing reports for inspection by the Group Parts Manager.
  • Assume full responsibility for stockholding in your branch; monitor daily and unit down orders; sign off all credit returns from customers and maintain balance between stock and sales. Perpetual stock takes must be done daily with monthly variances reported.
  • Sign and accept budgets for each new financial year and implement/monitor sales strategies based on the marketing plan.
  • Balance cash sales and COD accounts and handle all queries on parts debtor accounts.
  • Monitor profitability and control expenses; lead staff to high productivity and development; manage staffing decisions with GM and Group Parts Manager.
  • Maintain open communication with employees; discuss bulletins affecting business.
  • Ensure effective operation of the delivery fleet; keep vehicles roadworthy and presentable; control petrol usage and uphold corporate vehicle identity.
  • Maintain department presentability; conduct facility studies to meet dealer agreement requirements and report changes to Group Parts Manager.
  • Adhere to discount policy; participate in parts advertising with the Dealer Principal and measure advertising effectiveness.
  • Minimise pilferage and redundancy; manage vehicle risk.
  • Coordinate May/June and Oct/Nov stock counts and assist other branches with counts.
  • Establish rapport with customers to enhance the Company's image; keep the General Manager informed of transactions, promotions and activities; plan sales campaigns; participate in Pyramid of Excellence and incentive programmes.
