Job title: Parts Development Interior & Exterior Manager
About the Role Hyundai Motor Group's Parts Development function seeks an experienced Parts Development Interior & Exterior Manager to lead supplier development, sourcing strategy, and program launches for critical interior and exterior components. The role owns the procurement lifecycle from supplier identification through cradle-to-grave development, ensuring on-time, on-cost, and on-quality launches.
What You'll Do
- Understand program sourcing and key milestones in support of launch.
- Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, determine price, and select suppliers with Engineering and other teams.
- Manage supply base for assigned commodities via RFI/RFP/RFQ, bid packages, bidder conferences, evaluation, negotiation, and contracts administration.
- Negotiate long-term agreements, maintain best-in-class pricing, and lead cost reduction activities.
- Develop commodities with suppliers meeting specifications and timing; evaluate final supplier selection using HKMC and should-cost models.
- Direct, manage and guide suppliers through HMG’s Parts Development process (cradle-to-grave).
- Develop and achieve target quality at each milestone; plan improvements for problematic parts/suppliers affecting quality and delivery.
- Drive flawless launches at supplier sites with ISIR (PPAP); proactively address delivery, cost, and quality issues; conduct fast issue closure with suppliers.
- Hold effective supplier/partner meetings for relationship development.
- Continuously negotiate for best-in-class piece price and tooling cost to hit target vehicle cost.
- Develop purchasing strategies with Engineering, Quality, Production, and other teams.
- Monitor supply disruptions and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production Planners; maintain supply base information; disseminate information; hire, develop, train, and manage buyers.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance or Accounting or related field.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Preferred: Minimum 5 years of related job experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience in automotive parts development and supplier relationship management.
