About the Role Canonical’s Partner Engineering Team is looking for open-source enthusiasts to help optimize Ubuntu for new silicon across the full Linux stack. This globally distributed team collaborates with silicon vendors to bring optimized support for architectures like x86, ARM, RISC-V, PowerPC and s390x, enabling breakthroughs in AI, cloud, and IoT deployments. The role emphasizes collaboration, ecosystem quality, and delivering a seamless Ubuntu user experience.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate proactively within a distributed team to align on strategy and execution.
- Foster a software ecosystem with a seamless user experience for all Ubuntu users.
- Evaluate contributions of other engineers to maintain high-quality software standards.
- Play a role in optimizing Ubuntu for new silicon and hardware accelerators, confidential computing, networking, virtualization, and containerization across supported architectures.
What We're Looking For
- Passion for open source and Linux, with the ability to work across the full Linux stack.
- Interest in or experience with hardware silicon, accelerators, AI stacks, confidential computing, networking, virtualization, or containerization.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a distributed team and with silicon vendors across architectures (x86, ARM, RISC-V, PowerPC, s390x).
- Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to high-quality software and Ubuntu user experience.
