Job title: Part-time Shop Assistant
About the Role The part-time Shop Assistant will support the Mechanical Engineering department lab managers in The College of Engineering. This role involves 20-25 hours per week during Summer 2026 to help maintain the ME Machine Shop and ME Labs, and to prepare spaces for the upcoming academic year.
What You'll Do
- Provide general maintenance of the ME Machine Shop and Lab spaces, keeping them orderly and well-presented.
- Maintain shop equipment, tools, and consumables.
- Move furniture and set up and break down rooms as needed for lab activities and events.
- Organize lab spaces to support preparations for the upcoming academic year; follow directions from the Mechanical Engineering Lab Manager.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and dress codes in lab and metal shop environments; assist with lifting, pushing, and pulling tasks as required.
What We're Looking For
- Current Villanova student; work-study preferred but open to all students.
- Availability Monday through Thursday during Summer 2026; approximately 20-25 hours per week.
- Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, pushing, pulling) and to follow safety protocols and lab/dress codes.
- Willingness to work under the direction of Mechanical Engineering Lab Manager.
