Part-Time Senior Downsizing Specialist (W-2)

Caring Transitions of Central San Francisco helps seniors and families navigate downsizing, relocation, and estate transitions with compassion and hands-on support. Every project is different, and every client interaction matters.

We’re hiring part-time Senior Downsizing Specialists to support projects throughout San Francisco, the East Bay, Marin, and the Peninsula.

This role is best suited for someone seeking supplemental income and flexible, project-based work. Hours vary week to week and are not guaranteed.

What You’ll Do

• Assist seniors and families with downsizing and relocation projects

• Sort, organize, pack, and prepare items for donation, recycling, or resale

• Photograph and catalog items for online estate sales

• Help prepare homes for estate sales and assist during pickup days

• Lift and carry boxes (up to 30 lbs), including stairs and standing for extended periods

• Follow safety guidelines and company best practices

• Note: We are not movers. Professional movers handle heavy furniture and items over 40 lbs.

• What We’re Looking For

• Compassion and patience when working with seniors and families

• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented

• Comfortable with light physical labor and varied environments

• Able to work independently and as part of a small team

• Reliable transportation required (job sites vary)

• Occasional weekend availability is required

• Must pass a background check

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

• Compensation & Schedule

• $22 per hour (W-2 position)

• Part-time, on-site, project-based work

• No guaranteed hours or fixed weekly schedule

• Mileage reimbursed between job sites
