About the Role McKendree University Music Department is seeking a part-time saxophone instructor for its Lebanon, Illinois campus, beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. This on-campus role may include online/remote teaching opportunities dependent on course needs; applicants interested in online/remote opportunities must reside in IL, CA, FL, TN, or KY. What You'll Do
- Teach saxophone courses to undergraduate students on the Lebanon, IL campus (Fall 2026 start).
- Provide instruction and mentorship to students and participate in Department activities as needed. What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree or significant professional experience required.
- Prior college teaching experience preferred.
- Ability to teach saxophone and related responsibilities; online/remote teaching opportunities may exist.
- Applicants for online/remote opportunities must reside in IL, CA, FL, TN, KY. Nice to Have
- Experience with online/remote teaching is a plus. Compensation & Benefits
- Regular pay rate: $2,145.00 for each 3-hour course, per semester. Higher rates may apply for larger course enrollments, labs, or other duties.
- Part-time employees are not eligible for benefits. Part-time faculty and staff enjoy discounted tuition after 1 year of employment; spouses and dependents under 26 receive discounts on undergraduate courses.
