About the Role Western National Parks Association seeks a Part-Time Retail Park Store Associate to support the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument Store in Mimbres, NM. The role focuses on delivering excellent visitor service, managing daily retail operations, and promoting the educational value of park store products. Revenue supports education, research, and park projects across 71 units. What You'll Do
- Support day-to-day retail store operations.
- Provide excellent visitor and customer service.
- Complete sales transactions.
- Assist retail managers with inventory, receiving, stocking, cleaning, organizing and merchandising.
- Ensure clean and effective merchandising of products.
- Become an expert in the educational value of store products and communicate significance to visitors.
- Assist with special events after normal business hours and on weekends.
- Help conduct physical inventory cycles and year-end counts to ensure accurate inventory.
- Act as an ambassador of WNP and the NPS to ensure park visitors have meaningful experiences. What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or GED required—unless currently a high school student.
- Prior retail and point-of-sale system experience (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Computer programs including Internet, databases, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint).
- Knowledge of office equipment including computers, printers, calculators, multiline touch tone phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers, and dollies.
- Planning, organization, analytical, problem solving, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, and professional business standards.
- Ability to pass NPS background check to obtain necessary security clearance.
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required to various local events or speaking engagements; occasional overnight trips may be required; may be required to use personal or company vehicles. Nice to Have
- Experience with retail POS systems (preferred). Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $15.00 – $15.75 per hour.
