Summary Overview
Hudson Creative is a boutique digital marketing agency with deep experience in the restaurant, hospitality, tourism, and lifestyle industries. We help clients drive measurable business results through paid media, SEO, social media, email, analytics, and digital strategy.
We are seeking a part-time Marketing Analytics Engineer to help improve the accuracy, automation, and scalability of our marketing measurement and reporting infrastructure.
Initially, this person will support the technical health of our current Google Sheets-based reporting environment, which pulls marketing data through tools such as Power My Analytics, while also owning GA4/GTM tracking support, troubleshooting, and measurement standardization. Longer term, this role will help us build a more automated and connected reporting and data ecosystem.
The goal is not simply to aggregate more metrics. We want reporting that is reliable, thoughtfully structured, and easy to interpret, prioritizing the data that best reflects client business goals rather than creating a direct copy of every platform metric.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot our existing Google Sheets-based reporting dashboards, data connectors, formulas, and calculations
- Investigate discrepancies across dashboards, advertising platforms, GA4, and other source systems, and resolve recurring issues at the system level
- Build and improve scalable reporting templates across paid media, SEO, organic social, and cross-channel performance
- Structure dashboards and reporting outputs so key KPIs and business outcomes are clear, prioritized, and easy for internal teams and clients to understand
- Configure, audit, and troubleshoot Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, including event tracking, conversions, QA, and documentation
- Help standardize tracking frameworks, conversion definitions, UTMs, naming conventions, and measurement methodologies across clients
- Improve measurement of business outcomes such as reservations, private-event leads, catering inquiries, ecommerce revenue, and other client-specific conversions
- Support the evaluation and implementation of Hudson Creative’s next-generation reporting infrastructure, including integrations with advertising platforms, analytics tools, CRM/POS/reservation systems, and other data sources
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring data and reporting workflows, improve QA, and reduce manual spreadsheet maintenance
- Partner with Performance, Accounts, Web/Development, and leadership teams to translate business and reporting needs into practical technical solutions
Must Haves:
- Hands-on experience with Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager
- Advanced Google Sheets skills, including formulas, data manipulation, and troubleshooting
- Experience with marketing reporting and data connector tools such as Power My Analytics, Supermetrics, Porter Metrics, Looker Studio, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of digital marketing data from platforms such as Google Ads, Meta Ads, Microsoft Ads, and other paid media platforms
- Knowledge of UTMs, event tracking, attribution, and conversion measurement
- Ability to diagnose discrepancies across multiple data sources and identify root causes
- Strong documentation and process-building skills
- Ability to explain technical analytics concepts to non-technical marketers
- Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple accounts or workstreams simultaneously
Nice to Haves:
- Experience working in a marketing agency or supporting reporting and analytics across multiple client accounts
- Experience with restaurant, hospitality, tourism, ecommerce, or lead-generation measurement
- SQL and/or BigQuery experience
- Experience with APIs, data pipelines, or custom marketing data integrations
- Python or other scripting experience
- Familiarity with CRM, POS, reservation, or ordering-system data such as Toast, OpenTable, or similar platforms
- Exposure to LLM APIs, AI-enabled analytics tools, agentic workflows, or MCP
- Familiarity with privacy, consent, and data collection considerations in digital analytics
Where This Role Can Grow:
- As Hudson Creative’s data infrastructure evolves, this role may expand into broader marketing data engineering, automation, and AI-enabled analytics initiatives. We are particularly interested in someone who can help us move from manual and fragmented reporting toward a more connected, scalable data environment.
Working With Hudson Creative:
- Flexible remote working arrangement
- Opportunity to help shape Hudson Creative’s evolving analytics and automation infrastructure
- Exposure to a broad mix of clients, platforms, and digital marketing data
- Opportunity for the scope and hours of the role to expand as our reporting and data infrastructure evolves
Interview Process:
-
Round 1: Introductory interview with hiring manager
-
Round 2: Technical interview or practical case study
-
Round 3: Final interview with Hudson Creative leadership
