About the Role AoPS Academy Virtual Campus is seeking an Upper-Level Math Instructor to join their team for a part-time position. The instructor will teach competition math (AMC, AIME, MATHCOUNTS, USA(J)MO, IMO) to middle and high school students in a live online classroom. This role supports after-school and weekend enrichment programs and summer camps. What You'll Do
- Teach enthusiastic middle and high school students in online classrooms using Zoom.
- Use AoPS curriculum to deliver participation-oriented classes that focus on instructional development and problem-solving rather than rote memorization.
- Work in small classes (average size ~12) with top-performing students who are motivated to learn.
- Foster an engaging classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and student-led discussions. What We're Looking For
- A bachelor's degree in a STEM field (required).
- A master's degree or higher in a STEM field (preferred).
- Some experience teaching or tutoring middle to high school students.
- Strongly preferred: experience with middle and high school math contests such as AMC, AIME, MATHCOUNTS, USA(J)MO, IMO, etc. Nice to Have
- Experience competing in or teaching/tutoring students for middle and high school math contests.
- Preference for student-led instruction, discussions, and heavy student participation.
- Comfort teaching in a live virtual classroom environment using software such as Zoom. Compensation & Benefits
- The instructor rate at the Virtual Campus is $30/hour (includes 15 minutes of early arrival before class).
