About the Role Part-time Professional Writing Instructors are needed by the Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition to teach WRT 105 (Studio 1) or WRT 205 (Studio 2) in Fall 2026. All offerings are face-to-face in Syracuse, NY, with on-campus presence required; remote teaching is not available. What You'll Do
- Develop and/or update a class syllabus.
- Order appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.
- Prepare projects or other student assignments.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours. What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree required.
- Prior college teaching experience.
- Applicants with current or prior experience teaching in Syracuse University’s Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition will have priority consideration. Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $1,483 to $1,800 per credit.
- Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.
- All offerings are contingent on budgetary approval and sufficient enrollment.
