About the Role
Syracuse University’s School of Architecture invites part-time instructors to teach graduate architecture design studios for Fall and/or Spring semesters. The position is on-campus, requiring in-person presence, and involves delivering 6-credit design studio courses at the graduate level.
What You'll Do
- Develop and/or update the course syllabus.
- Order books and materials before class start.
- Prepare lectures, projects, and student assignments.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.
- Deliver instruction aligned with course competencies and performance levels.
- Meet all designated class periods.
- Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades per University regulations.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
What We're Looking For
- A professional degree in Architecture; an advanced degree in Architecture or a closely related design field.
- Teaching experience in an accredited professional architecture degree program.
- Strong intellectual and creative direction; pursuit of innovative applications of emerging digital technology.
- Professional design experience and a record of recognized creative work (built/unbuilt work, installations, or publications).
- Skilled in advanced digital modeling, fabrication, and visualization.
- Commitment to supporting a diverse student population.
Nice to Have
- Experience with emerging digital technologies and digital design tools.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $21,000 - $25,000 per course (USD).
- Part-time, on-campus position.
