About the Role Syracuse University seeks a part-time faculty member to teach EAR 317 Sedimentary Processes and Systems for Fall 2026. The instructor will deliver a 4-credit, on-campus course in person beginning August 24, 2026, with responsibilities including syllabus development, instruction, assessment, and student engagement. What You'll Do
- Develop and/or update the class syllabus.
- Order appropriate books and materials in advance of the start date.
- Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours of two hours per week.
- Present instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the class.
- Meet all designated class periods; reschedule in case of illness or emergency and notify the department chair.
- Collaborate with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes.
