About the Role This part-time Cook position supports daily senior meals at a Lawrenceville/Gwinnett County senior center, ensuring safe, sanitary kitchen operations and reliable food service for clients. What You'll Do
- Cook and prepare food according to established menus and special requests
- Serve meals to clients
- Maintain temperature logs, inventory, and supplies
- Order supplies and restock as needed; clean and operate kitchen equipment
- Ensure proper food handling in accordance with ServSafe regulations
- Communicate with clients, supervisors, and peers to ensure smooth service
- Perform other duties of a similar nature What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED and 1 year of cook experience, or an equivalent combination
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Fingerprinting required
- ServSafe preferred; CPR and First Aid within 6 months Nice to Have
- One year experience working with seniors
- ServSafe Certification preferred (must be attached to application) or must obtain within the first 3 months of employment (Gwinnett County will provide training opportunity)
- CPR and First Aid Certification within 6 months Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $15.75
- Part-time position with a maximum of 1,508 hours per year
- Onsite; not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits
