About the Role The Fluid Power Mobile Applications Adjunct Trainer will prepare and deliver non-credit, professional education and training in fluid power under the direction of the Program Director of Fluid Power Education. This role supports MSOE’s Professional Education and Research Development team by providing industry-relevant training to participants nationwide (and potentially overseas). What You'll Do
- Prepare, conduct, and evaluate industrial training programs nationwide in the USA and possibly overseas.
- Teach classes ranging from basic to advanced in topics including: Hydrostatic Transmissions; Control Blocks in Mobile Machines; Steering and Fan Drive Systems; Hybrid and Electrified Mobile Machines; Excavators and Shovels; Loaders, Dozers, and Graders; Road Construction Machines; Aerial Work Platforms; Forklifts and Telehandlers; Cranes; Mining Equipment; Municipal and Hauling Trucks; Concrete Pumps and Mixers; Tractors and AG Machines; Tunnel Boring Machines; Aerospace Applications; Marine and Military Applications; Railways Applications.
- Teach premade material or customize material upon request.
- Assist the Program Director in client communication, business development, and logistics.
- Evaluate training programs and suggest adjustments based on client feedback.
- Other duties: assist in student employee training and provide technical support to academic departments and student projects. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required); postgraduate studies preferred.
- 5+ years of technical training experience in one or more listed topics.
- Industrial experience as well as teaching experience.
- Solid understanding of basic theory and practical, hands-on teaching.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead groups and develop training documentation and materials.
- Ability to travel upon request.
- Skills: ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports; ability to speak effectively; strong written and oral communication; numerical problem-solving in standardized situations. Nice to Have
