About the Role Nelson University, Waxahachie, TX invites applicants for a part-time adjunct faculty position in the Department of Education for the graduate Counselor Education program. Faculty intentionally provide a curriculum characterized by currency, harmony with Assemblies of God doctrine, and biblical integration across all disciplines. What You'll Do
- Teach graduate-level courses in the Counselor Education Program online and on-campus as assigned.
- Schedule courses during day or night hours, or Saturdays, as determined by the Dean.
- Prepare syllabi, initiate textbook selection in a timely fashion, oversee quality educational experiences, and submit final grades per posted schedule via the learning management system.
- Provide 30 minutes of availability per week per course for student consultations.
- Familiarize yourself with the University’s Institutional Policy Manual and policies.
- Wear professional attire during class and begin and end each class on time.
- Carry out instructional and spiritual formation activities with students and staff in accord with University policies.
- Optional: attend department meetings; Optional: participate in Faculty In-Service meetings and commencement ceremonies. What We're Looking For
- Doctorate in Counselor Education or Counseling from an accredited institution.
- Valid Texas School Counselor certification.
- Three or more years of relevant school counseling experience.
- Evidence of teaching online and face-to-face classes.
- A commitment to academic excellence and spiritual vitality.
- Graduation from a CACREP-accredited Counseling program.
- Faith, mission and community lifestyle standards that meet University expectations; willingness to embrace Nelson's core values of servant leadership.
- Established teaching abilities, strong written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of subject area.
- Ability to work harmoniously with faculty, staff, administration, and students; adaptability to change and innovation.
- Documented professional experience; ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds; commitment to collaboration and program development.
- Personal faith consistent with Nelson University’s evangelical Christian mission; active participation in a local church community; Assemblies of God affiliation preferred. Nice to Have
- Willingness to attend department meetings and Faculty In-Service; participation in commencement ceremonies encouraged. Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation is determined according to established pay scales and is based on credentials and teaching assignments.
