Job title: Paramedic - PRN
About the Role Paramedic - PRN position with Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville, IL. The role provides pre-hospital care within licensure and hospital/IDPH guidelines under direction of a physician, supporting emergency medical services in the field. The incumbent will assess patient needs and deliver age-appropriate treatment across environments.
What You'll Do
- Administer pre-hospital care within scope of licensure, under the direction of licensed physician, in accordance with established hospital policies/procedures and Illinois Department of Public Health regulations.
- Assess patients and determine appropriate treatment; operate ambulance in field settings.
- Provide age-specific assessment and care using growth and development considerations; follow IDPH/EMS protocols.
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to department dress code; ensure equipment is used safely.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalency. Illinois EMT-Paramedic and CPR required. Illinois driver's license with no suspensions/revocations within the past three years, and no convictions for reckless driving, speeding (over 15 mph), or DUI within the past five years. EKG course required. Related experience preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to function calmly during emergencies; demonstrated leadership capabilities; motor coordination and dexterity to operate ambulance and equipment; knowledge of equipment approved by IDPH/EMS; professional appearance.
