We are currently recruiting for a qualified and experienced Paramedic Relief position on Brown Watch, North Canterbury, covering both the Rangiora and Amberley stations. This is a fixed-term role through to 1 June 2027.

We are seeking an adaptable individual who can integrate seamlessly into our team, work collaboratively alongside both paid and volunteer staff, and deliver a high standard of patient care. The successful applicant will demonstrate a positive attitude, a commitment to clinical excellence, and a willingness to contribute to station portfolios and continuous service improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive team and play a key role in providing exceptional care to the North Canterbury community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current St John Authority to Practice at Paramedic level
  • Current Registration and Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) from Te Kaunihera Manapou Paramedic Council
  • Excellent operational and clinical performance to date
  • Excellent driving record
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus
  • A genuine commitment to the wellbeing of others
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • Evidence of CCE
  • Demonstrated behaviours that align with Hato Hone St John's core values - Do the right thing (Mahi Tika), Side by Side (Tū Tahi), Straight Up (Mahi Pono), Make it better (Whakapai Ake), Open Minds (Whakaaro Nui)

Please note: all appointments are subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks including, but not limited to, physical assessment and health check. For clinical operations roles where you are required to drive, you will be required to meet St John medical standards.
