Paralegal
We are looking for a Paralegal to support a busy legal team in Schaumburg, Illinois. This Contract position is ideal for someone with at least 3 years of experience who is comfortable handling a broad range of legal matters in a fast-paced services environment. The role offers exposure to litigation, transactional work, corporate matters, and commercial real estate, making it a strong fit for a versatile legal team member who enjoys variety in their day-to-day responsibilities.
Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive paralegal assistance across active legal matters, helping attorneys manage deadlines, files, and case-related documentation.

Prepare, organize, and revise legal documents for litigation, corporate, transactional, and commercial real estate matters.

Draft discovery materials and support the preparation of responses and document production for ongoing cases.

Compose correspondence for clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other stakeholders as needed.

Handle electronic court filings accurately and ensure submissions meet applicable procedural requirements.

Assist with matters involving business disputes and multi-family real estate transactions, maintaining organized records throughout each stage.

Track billable time and legal activity using case management and billing platforms, including LEAP, and contribute to adoption of tools such as Smokeball when needed.

The pay range for this position is 25 to 30. Benefits available to contract/contract professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. At least 3 years of paralegal experience, preferably in a smaller law firm environment with broad exposure to legal operations.

Working knowledge of civil litigation processes, including discovery, document production, and trial preparation support.

Experience supporting transactional matters, corporate legal work, and commercial real estate files.

Strong drafting skills with the ability to prepare legal documents and written correspondence with accuracy and professionalism.

Proficiency with e-filing procedures and familiarity with case management or legal billing software.

Ability to manage multiple assignments independently while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

Effective communication and organizational skills suited to a fast-paced legal setting.
