The Role at a Glance
As a Paralegal, you will play a key role in supporting the Litigation team within the Group Protection Legal & Compliance Department by conducting legal research and assisting with a broad range of litigation and departmental activities.
What you'll be doing
- Researching, reviewing and analyzing group insurance litigation files, understanding the content, applying critical thinking/analysis to case facts in accordance with Department processes.
- Coordinating, researching and organizing discovery as requested.
- Performing accurate benefit calculations and presenting values related to litigated files in accordance with Department processes.
- Researching and responding to subpoenas and related requests.
- Issuing and monitoring litigation hold orders.
- Completing legal research requests as assigned.
- Performing other duties and projects as assigned.
What we’re looking for
- Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate with minimum 3 years relevant experience is strongly preferred
- 5+ years of experience in group insurance/financial services industry a plus
