About the Role Volt is hiring a Painter in Chatsworth, CA to prepare surfaces, apply primers/paints, inspect finished parts, and maintain paint booth equipment. The role requires attention to detail, safety, and adherence to quality and process standards in a manufacturing/paint shop setting.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and clean surfaces by sanding and wiping with solvent
• Mask surfaces as needed
• Load and off-load parts on/from paint racks
• Mix and prepare primer and paint per manufacturers’ instructions
• Check surface treatment and preparation prior to painting
• Spray primer and paint on a wide variety of parts
• Operate curing oven and monitor temperature and curing cycle time
• Perform visual inspection on painted parts for quality
• Clean and maintain paint booth apparatus (guns, filters, etc.)
• Seek continuous improvement in production/quality work processes
• Follow company handbook rules, as well as written and verbal directions from leads, supervisor and management
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment per Code of Safe Work Practices
• Understand and adhere to the company quality system

What We're Looking For

• 3-5 years of experience in a paint shop environment, preferably aerospace or automotive
• Detail-oriented and meticulous
• Ability to mix and prepare a wide variety of paint and primer (gloss, semi-gloss, flat) with different formulations
• Basic understanding of blueprint and engineering drawings
• Experience working with work orders/job orders
• Ability to pass respiratory fit test and pulmonary test if required
• Lift up to 40 lbs

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
