PACS Field Technician
Location: Charlestown, Massachusetts (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are looking for someone to provide onsite, hands-on support for PACS and related radiology technologies across clinical environments. This role will focus on maintaining system performance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting radiology staff with day-to-day workflows. This position is responsible for all aspects of customer requests and incident management, acting as a Tier 2 in-person support escalation point.
Key Responsibilities

Provide onsite support for PACS, radiology workstations, and imaging peripherals.

Troubleshoot issues related to PACS access, image routing, modality connectivity, and user workflows.

Support deployment, setup, and maintenance of imaging devices (CT, MRI, X-ray, etc.).

Partner with radiology staff and escalate issues to Imaging Informatics/IT teams as needed.

Assist with PACS upgrades, patches, and testing efforts.

Support basic RIS workflow issues and ticket resolution.

Document and track incidents in the ticketing system, ensuring timely follow-up.

Deliver in-person customer support in a clinical environment.

Provide basic guidance and training to end users on PACS workflows.

Required Qualifications

A High School diploma or GED is required.

1-3 years of field, service desk, or IT support experience, preferably in a healthcare environment supporting a large enterprise of end users.

Exposure to PACS, RIS, or imaging workflows.

Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows and MAC OS environments, hardware, and applications.

Basic networking knowledge, including IP and DNS.

Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy.

Experience with Microsoft infrastructure (Windows, Active Directory, Exchange) and Microsoft O365 applications.

Experience with Citrix Systems applications.

Knowledge of various mobile devices, including iOS and Android platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

A+ Certification is preferred.

Experience with Epic Radiant or other radiology applications.

Exposure to dictation and voice recognition tools.

Knowledge of Dell, Apple, HP, and Ricoh hardware is desirable.

Knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft and Workday applications is desirable.

Work Environment

The role requires on-call availability after business hours on a rotational basis. The work is varied, requiring adaptability and independent judgment to manage priorities. This position involves frequent walking, standing, and physical tasks, including lifting and carrying items. The work requires close attention to tasks for accurate completion.
