Job Status: Hourly Full Time

Job Overview As a Packaging Technician at Cargill, you'll play an important role in ensuring products are packaged safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. In this hands-on role, you'll operate packaging equipment, monitor production processes, perform basic maintenance, and help prepare finished products for shipment. You'll be part of a team focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do

  • Operate and monitor packaging equipment, making basic adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
  • Set up machines, feed materials into equipment, and prepare finished products for storage or shipment.
  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot routine equipment issues using hand and power tools.
  • Track production, quality, and inventory information using computerized systems and production records.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move materials and finished goods.
  • Follow all safety, food safety, quality, and lockout/tagout procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or variable shifts with advance notice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You Will Need

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English, verbal and written.
  • Able to work indoors and outdoors, including at heights of 4 feet or more, and capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, bending, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation and while using appropriate PPE.
  • Able to work rotating shifts
  • Basic computer skills

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Basic experience troubleshooting mechanical components or systems.
  • Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience operating a forklift.
  • Experience with SAP or a computerized maintenance management system
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or variable shifts with advance notice.
