Job Overview

We are looking for a dependable Material Handler to move and position structural steel, load and unload trailers, and support daily yard operations. This role involves operating overhead cranes and Pettibone equipment, moving trailers around the yard, and working outdoors in changing weather conditions.

Candidates with relevant equipment experience are encouraged to apply. Training may be available for applicants who demonstrate the right skills and work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes to lift, position, and move structural steel safely.
• Use Pettibone equipment to transport steel and materials around the yard.
• Move trailers around the yard as needed.
• Load and unload trailers and organize materials for handling and storage.
• Follow proper lifting, rigging, and material-handling safety procedures.
• Work with the shop team to support daily production and yard activities.
• Maintain reliable attendance and follow workplace safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience operating overhead cranes and handling materials.

• Experience loading and moving structural steel with an overhead crane is required.

• Familiarity with Pettibone equipment or similar material-handling machinery is beneficial.

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Dependable attendance, a strong work ethic, and commitment to safety.

• Willingness to learn additional equipment and procedures.

• Schedule and Compensation

• This is a second-shift position in York, PA. Starting pay is $22.00 per hour, with higher pay available depending on experience. An additional $3.00 per hour shift differential applies to second shift.
