Overhead Catenary System (OCS) CAD Designer

About the Role Take on a new challenge and apply your mechanical and structural CAD expertise to Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS) in a cutting-edge rail environment. You’ll help deliver design submissions, collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, and Construction Management teams, and produce 2D and 3D CAD/BIM OCS documents. You’ll also prepare and review OCS layouts and detailed cross-sections, support survey teams, and manage BOQ elaboration and updates. What You'll Do

• Establishing and reviewing basic and detailed design drawings for the project.
• Integrating technical interface requirements from internal and external stakeholders.
• Preparing and submitting BIM format documents when applicable.
• Supporting architecture definition between subsystems to achieve optimal OCS design.
• Participating in collecting feedback (REX) on OCS designs.
• Ensuring technical compliance by reviewing supplier, subcontractor, and in-house designs.
• Preparing and reviewing OCS layouts and detailed cross-sections.
• Coordinating with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management) and external stakeholders.
• Supporting survey teams and managing Bill of Quantities (BOQ) elaboration and updates. What We're Looking For
• Completion of secondary school (high school diploma) required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field preferred.
• 4+ years experience in mechanical/structural CAD engineering.
• Proficiency in BIM/CAD software.
• Experience with OCS layout and cross-section design.
• Knowledge of Canadian standards and common practices (strongly desirable).
• Fluent in English.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and critical thinking; problem-solving ability and resilience. Nice to Have
• Second language is appreciated. Compensation & Benefits
• The expected compensation for this role is CAD 70,000 – 90,000 per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
