Outreach Housing Ambassador
The Outreach Housing Ambassador (OHA) is a student-facing role that offers hands-on experience in marketing, communications, recruitment and customer service. OHAs work closely with the Marketing Specialist to connect prospective and current students with Housing & Dining Programs through housing tours, campus events, social media and other outreach efforts.
In this role, OHAs will receive training and opportunities to develop professional communication and marketing skills through a mix of independent projects and team-based initiatives. They will also serve as a welcoming resource for prospective students, residents and their families, helping answer questions and create a positive experience with Housing & Dining Programs.
This part-time position is a great opportunity for students interested in marketing, communications, social media, customer service or higher education to gain real-world experience while representing the University of Utah and connecting with fellow students.

Responsibilities

Create social media content around campus events, trends and current campaigns such as housing applications.

Attend events such as move-in week, Discover the U and Choose the U events (2 Saturdays per semester), on-campus student events, etc.

Give housing tours on Fridays from 12-2pm in Lassonde Studios and Impact & Prosperity Epicenter.

Manage project boards in Asana and track current tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a current University of Utah student in good standing with the university and maintain that status throughout employment.

Ability to work effectively in a diverse office setting.

Ability to maintain student information under strict confidentiality.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills in speaking and writing concisely and logically.

Demonstrated skill to work effectively with students, parents, and university officials.

Comfortable and confident in public speaking.
