Job title: Orthopedic Technician - Orthopedics - Days
About the Role Orthopedic Technician in the Orthopedics department at Endeavor Health, based in Lombard, IL. This role supports physicians and patients with casting, dressing changes, DME fitting, and peri-procedural tasks. Travel to Elmhurst and other orthopedic offices as needed; typical hours are Monday–Friday, with schedule variations.
What You'll Do
- Greet patients and place in exam room
- Perform vital signs
- Perform dressing changes
- Fit required durable medical equipment (DME)
- Cast removal, cast and splint application
- Assist with casting procedures under fluoroscopy
- Speak with patients over the phone and assist with problems
- Educate patients on care
- Support physician and office activity
- When there's downtime, perform some Medical Assistant responsibilities such as rooming patients
What We're Looking For
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited medical assistant program preferred
- Certification: Current CPR certification required
- Experience: Need to have experience casting; one year of experience in a physician practice setting preferred
- Certification/Assessment: Ability to pass the Registered Orthopedic Technologist certification test within 12 months of hire date
- Ideal candidate: Medical Assistant with experience casting and performing Ortho Tech duties
- Additional: Evidence of leadership, problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, basic computer skills and clinical competence

- Medical Assistant with experience casting (preferred)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $22.14 - $33.21 per hour

- Work arrangement: Full-time; 40 hours per week; Office hours Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM; Travel as needed to Elmhurst and other Orthopedic offices
