About the Role
UNITE HERE Local 26 Organizing Apprentice in Providence, RI and Newport, RI. A hands-on, on-the-ground organizing role where apprentices gain immediate practical experience in interpersonal organizing, relationship building, worker committee recruitment, and campaign development. With close mentorship from experienced organizers, apprentices integrate into the local culture and develop their voice as worker organizers while training on long-term leadership and strategy.
What You'll Do
- Gain practical experience in interpersonal organizing, relationship building, and campaign development on on-the-ground campaigns.
- Recruit and support worker committees and mobilize coworkers to participate in organizing drives.
- Work with mentors to learn organizing strategy, cross-cultural solidarity, and leadership development.
- Integrate into the local union culture and develop your own voice as a worker organizer.
- Contribute to campaigns aimed at advancing workers’ rights and achieving concrete wins.
