Job title: Oracle Database Administrator (RAC/ASM/Data Guard)
About the Role To diagnose and resolve complex Oracle database issues impacting business operations, with a focus on RAC, ASM, and Data Guard environments. This role includes supporting operations, performing root cause analysis, maintaining knowledge resources, and delivering secure and reliable solutions to customers.
What You'll Do
- Champion ITIL, security, and data privacy to offer high-quality, well-documented solutions, minimizing risks and maximizing customer satisfaction.
- Provide support for complex incidents escalated by analysts, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to resolve technical and security issues.
- Maintain a comprehensive Knowledge base, act as a mentor to junior analysts, and deliver training programs for freshers to boost productivity.
- Contribute to a positive customer experience and high CSAT scores by providing fast, accurate, and secure resolutions, fostering customer trust and satisfaction.
- Proactively identify and address potential security vulnerabilities to protect customer data and prevent security incidents.
What We're Looking For
- RAC: knowledge of the RAC startup sequence process, node eviction handling, SCAN listener functionality, Cache Fusion, and RAC troubleshooting techniques.
- ASM: knowledge of ASM architecture, adding disks to existing disk groups, various ASM disk group redundancy levels, and ASM troubleshooting techniques.
- Data Guard: thorough knowledge of Data Guard environments, practical knowledge in building physical standby environments, troubleshooting Data Guard issues, understanding Data Guard types (Physical/Logical/Snapshot/ADG), and resolving large gaps.
- Administration: strong understanding of basic architecture, how a SELECT query works, familiarity with ORA- errors (e.g., 1555, 600, 7445), and Data Pump concepts.
- OS: ability to manage Oracle DB in Linux, troubleshoot high CPU/memory related issues, and use basic OS commands (VI editor, file permissions, SCP/FTP).
