Job title: Operator, Level 2

About the Role Operator, Level 2 on the Valve Body team plays a key role in providing labor, parts, service and goods to other team members and departments, critical to the remanufacturing process of transmissions. Your day will include a wide variety of duties and tasks assigned by management, staying organized and responsive to requests to ensure daily demands are met and processes run smoothly within the department.

What You'll Do

  • Read, understand and follow detailed work instructions, processes & procedures, maintaining an even workflow.
  • Examine and clean components for use, assess wear, damage & defects, and adhere to quality standards.
  • Help the department in various roles, take on responsibilities and learn equipment.
  • Verify & perform quality checks to ensure parts and components are correct and within standards.
  • Operate and perform work using a variety of equipment, tools and machines (manual, hydraulic, pneumatic).
  • Keep the department clean of trash, loose debris and dirt; sweep and mop job areas throughout the day.
  • Assist others within the department, work as a team, and be able to work overtime when needed.
  • Follow directions from supervisors and managers; be proactive and helpful.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment; be at your workstation on time daily.

What We're Looking For

  • Ability to properly read gages and dimensions; follow oral and written instructions.
  • Mechanical background; past machine shop and automotive parts experience preferred.
  • Must be 18 years old; high school diploma preferred; detail oriented; ability to bend, twist, pull & push.
  • Willingness to get dirty at times and may have to work with chemicals.
  • Skill of working with your hands, multiple types of tools, fixtures, gauges and other instruments.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds; stand & work on your feet for 8+ hours a day and under pressure at times.
  • Have a Can-Do Attitude, with good time management, communication and decision-making skills.
  • Self-starting and motivation; teamwork and willingness to help others.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
