Operations Officer

The Operations Officer will support the coordination and execution of logistics, projects, procurement, site operations, and other business activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of operational objectives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, highly organized, proactive professional who can coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shipping, import logistics, customs clearance, freight forwarding, haulage, and equipment delivery activities.
• Monitor engineering, procurement, shipment, installation, and contractor activities to ensure timely project execution.
• Maintain logistics dashboards, action trackers, project documentation, and weekly progress reports, highlighting risks and delays.
• Liaise with Customs, SON, NAFDAC, OEMs, freight forwarders, contractors, and other service providers to facilitate approvals and resolve operational issues.
• Support site operations, including site visits, equipment offloading, logistics coordination, heavy-lift activities, and site readiness.
• Assist with market intelligence, pricing, distributor/offtaker engagement, and sales planning to support commercial readiness.
• Maintain accurate records of permits, contracts, statutory approvals, and operational documentation.
• Support the COO/management with operational follow-ups, meetings, special assignments, and other business-critical activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

• 3–4 years of post-qualification experience in operations, logistics, project coordination, supply chain, or executive/administrative support.

• Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, agribusiness, or a fast-paced startup environment is preferred.

• Experience handling imports/exports through Apapa, Tin Can Island, or Lekki Deep Sea Port is an added advantage.

• Strong knowledge of Nigerian logistics, port operations, and regulatory processes.

• Excellent coordination, execution, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.

• Strong reporting, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight project timelines.

• Proactive, detail-oriented, and willing to take ownership of operational assignments.
