About this role

About the Role The Area Manager (AM) serves as the primary tactical executor on the warehouse floor. They are responsible for driving safety, leading frontline teams, and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to achieve daily operational targets. Success in this role is defined by an obsession with detail, a commitment to being a "coach first," and maintaining a consistent presence where the work happens. What You'll Do

  • Real-Time Flow & Floor Presence: Own the tactical minute-by-minute execution. Identify and remove physical or systemic barriers (equipment failure, station bottlenecks) immediately to keep the 'grind' moving. Provide real-time labor effectiveness feedback and address volume spikes requiring mid-shift adjustments.
  • Immediate Coaching & Individual Performance: Own "In-the-Moment" coaching; provide high-frequency tactical feedback and accountability. Manage the Daily 5 touchpoints and ensure new hires integrate correctly.
  • Safety & Professional Standards: Lead the "Safety First" culture on the floor; ensure PPE compliance, clean aisles, and professional conduct. Escalate safety or behavioral issues to the OM for formal performance management.
  • Tactical Problem Solving: Be the first responder when lines go down or scanners fail; restore flow and document incidents to help identify long-term process improvements.
  • Core Competencies & Ownership: Uphold accuracy by following SOPs; drive efficiency by targeting bottlenecks; maintain reliability and a consistent standard; curiosity to diagnose root causes; bias for action; resourcefulness to maximize existing headcount and equipment. What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics leadership role.
  • Strong ability to coach and lead direct teams in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in analyzing performance data and executing daily operational adjustments.
  • Clear and confident communicator with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Able to direct and make key decisions related to day-to-day operations.
  • Physical requirements: Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs frequently; stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and stoop for extended periods (10 to 12 hour shifts). Frequent climbing of ladders and step stools; operate setup tools and equipment; work in varying environmental conditions (hot/cold). Compensation & Benefits
  • Starting at $80,000, plus bonus.
