Operations Manager – Support Services, Quality & Compliance

About this role

About the Role As the second-in-command within Operations, you’ll enable Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain to perform at their best. You’ll own a broad portfolio including Quality (acting as Quality Manager), EHS, Facilities & PPM, Logistics, ERP/order administration and FSC clearance, and you’ll line-manage a small team with potential to take on additional functions. What You'll Do

  • Lead people by setting clear goals, conducting regular 1:1s, and addressing underperformance fairly
  • Own and maintain the QMS and ISO 9001 compliance; manage NCRs and corrective actions with accountability
  • Act as the responsible manager for site health and safety; maintain risk assessments, SSOWs and training records
  • Set up and run the planned preventive maintenance programme and manage facilities/PPM; oversee contractors
  • Oversee Logistics including shipping, documentation, on-time delivery; line-manage Logistics Manager; track OTIF and cost performance
  • Oversee order administration & ERP (BOMs, routings, parts); ensure order acknowledgements, lead times and invoicing accuracy
  • Lead the FSC programme: documentation, controls and ongoing upkeep What We're Looking For
  • Strong people manager who sets expectations, has difficult conversations and develops individuals
  • Operational breadth across at least two or three areas: Quality/ISO 9001, EHS, Facilities, Logistics, Order Admin
  • Comfortable working hands-on across a wide remit without losing thread
  • Clear communicator who can bring teams into a shared rhythm Nice to Have
  • NEBOSH/IOSH, or willingness to work towards it
  • ISO 9001 internal auditor experience
  • ERP competency (Orderwise or Oracle useful)
  • Exposure to export compliance or security clearance programmes
  • Continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment Compensation & Benefits
