About this role
We are hiring an Operations Manager in Lagos, Nigeria to lead the operational backbone of a growing fintech/BNPL platform. This role oversees merchant operations, consumer journeys, repayments, fulfilment, disputes, and process improvement to ensure efficient, compliant, and scalable operations. The position offers a net monthly compensation of ₦600,000 – ₦700,000.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end BNPL platform operations across merchants and consumers
- Oversee merchant onboarding, settlements, fulfilment, repayments, and dispute resolution
- Drive operational efficiency, automation, and continuous process improvement
- Establish and monitor operational KPIs, SLAs, and dashboards
- Partner with Product, Technology, Finance, Risk, and Compliance teams
- Lead and develop a high-performing operations team
- Ensure strong KYC, AML, risk, control, and ethical-finance standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 5–6+ years’ operations experience, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role
- Experience in BNPL, consumer fintech, e-commerce, or digital payments is strongly preferred
- Proven experience managing two-sided marketplace operations
- Strong knowledge of process improvement, automation, operational controls, and analytics
- Experience in a regulated financial services environment is an advantage
- Strong analytical, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
