About the Role Xylem seeks a senior, hands-on Operations Director to lead site operations for a complex, high-mix, low-volume CTO/ETO manufacturing facility. The role owns end-to-end site performance, drives transformation, and embeds Lean principles to deliver safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements.
What You'll Do
- Provide full responsibility for site operations including manufacturing, quality, materials, and logistics, while shaping long-term strategy aligned with Xylem's Lean Production System.
- Lead daily execution and drive site transformation to standardize processes, improve flow, reduce lead times, and strengthen execution in a CTO/ETO environment.
- Role models Lean practices: standard work, visual management, disciplined performance management; promote A3 Thinking, PDCA, Kaizen, 8D, and DMAIC.
- Own and review operational KPIs (safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, cost, lead time) and implement improvement plans.
- Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Product Management to balance complexity, responsiveness, and cost.
- Drive continuous improvement focused on production flexibility, planning and material flow, and selective use of automation and digital tools.
- Develop and mentor site leadership, reinforce accountability, and foster a zero-harm safety culture.
- Lead talent development, succession planning, and site growth initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing operations leadership experience, preferably in high-mix, low-volume CTO/ETO settings.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading Lean transformations at the site level; strong knowledge of Lean production systems and continuous improvement methods.
- Experience with supply chain integration, production planning, and quality systems; strong financial acumen with budgets, cost reductions, and capital investments.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing skills; ability to engage teams across levels.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP or Oracle), Lean or Six Sigma certification, and familiarity with ISO or regulated manufacturing environments (preferred).

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $175,000–$215,000 USD annually.
