Job title: Operations Coordinator – Vegetation Management
About the Role Join Entergy's Vegetation Management team as an Operations Coordinator responsible for coordinating contract vegetation crews, planning maintenance, and ensuring safety and reliability in assigned areas. You will work with Engineering and Line Department on construction planning, manage budgets and contract projects, and drive customer-focused service and safety leadership.
What You'll Do
- Schedule, assign, and monitor work of contract vegetation crews to meet Entergy vegetation maintenance, commitment, and safety specifications.
- Develop, maintain, and implement yearly maintenance plans for assigned areas; perform field and accounting audits of contractor invoices to ensure billing accuracy.
- Manage annual trimming budget and oversee multiple contract projects, including bidding procedures and analysis, with minimal direct supervision.
- Monitor reliability and implement improvement plans; coordinate contract crews during emergency restoration.
- Maintain a positive customer service attitude with internal and external customers; respond to vegetation issues per the Customer Issue Resolution (CIR) process; communicate project plans and status to internal customers; participate in external customer communication and educational programs.
- Promote strong safety leadership with co-workers and contract workforce; participate in core process improvement teams as required; perform duties within Entergy safety rules and guidelines.
- Use Microsoft applications and Entergy applications to perform, track, and document work; apply conflict mitigation and effective communication strategies.
- Be available to work after hours and perform On Call duties and/or assist in storm restoration in other jurisdictions if needed; physically able to work long and unusual hours.
- Have or obtain line clearance order certification; possess distribution system map reading abilities.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree (Forestry or related field) with 2+ years utility vegetation management experience OR 5+ years utility vegetation management / utility line management experience.
- Proven safe work and driving record.
- Ability to work after hours and perform On Call duties; assist in storm restoration as needed.
- Experience in Contract Management, oversight of multiple contracting teams, bidding procedures and analysis, and conflict management.
- Proficient PC skills in Microsoft toolkit and corporate business applications.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects within deadlines.
- Working knowledge of electrical distribution systems, work procedures, and maintenance operations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal direct supervision.
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills; have or ability to obtain line clearance order certification; distribution system map reading abilities.
