Job title: Operations Controller
About the Role The Operations Controller is a key role supporting the Regional Finance Director Americas, responsible for managing inventory and partnering with cross-functional teams to reduce costs and improve plant productivity. This position identifies trends and opportunities to maintain targeted inventory levels and minimize obsolete stock.
What You'll Do
- Be the “Right Hand” to the Regional Finance Director Americas in managing inventory levels and ensuring inventory costing accuracy for Ohio Medical.
- Maintain costing standards including quarterly/annual cost rolls, burden rates, overhead allocation to product lines, and partner with Supply Chain & Operations to ensure cost transparency.
- Analyze cost for inventory, labor, material purchases, and perform variance analysis with recommendations.
- Partner with the COO and Operations Team to complete and review inventory reporting for actuals and forecasts.
- Provide analysis and commentary on variances to benchmarks; support senior leadership decisions to achieve operational metrics.
- Identify cost savings initiatives and projects with the Operations Team to enhance plant productivity.
- Optimize inventory, reduce excess/obsolete stock, and prepare reporting to monitor metrics and targets.
- Drive improvements in management reporting to bring best practices across finance.
- Create and manage a real-time financial and operational metrics system for inventory.
- Prepare ad-hoc analyses and reports for internal and external reporting.
- Review CAPEX projects, perform financial valuations, and present to senior leadership for review/approval.
- Ensure inventory reporting is GAAP and SOX compliant, including reconciliations and timely communicating adjustments to leadership.
- Foster a continuous improvement mindset across finance and business, partnering cross-functionally to enhance processes and drive results.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of relevant experience; 3+ years of supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of SOX and GAAP principles/regulations.
- Manufacturing background with significant cost accounting experience.
- ERP systems experience; Epicor is a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance; MBA is a plus; CPA/CMA highly preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; capable of handling large data sets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; continuous improvement experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong management and leadership ability.
- Effective verbal and written communication; detail-oriented.
Nice to Have
- MBA is a plus.
- CPA/CMA certification strongly preferred.
- Epicor ERP experience.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $119,676 - $139,559 per year (USD).
