About the Role Flint Hills Resources is seeking an Operation Technician for an asphalt plant in St. Paul, MN. You will work as part of a team to support the terminal's operation, including receipt and shipment of raw materials and asphalt products, manufacturing, lab testing, inspection and recordkeeping, computer-based tasks, and general equipment maintenance. The role includes coordinating with schedulers to help deliver and receive asphalt products by truck and to produce finished products to meet customer demand.
What You'll Do
- Use the data management system to input computer data and manage assigned duties.
- Support the team by managing small projects.
- Product production and transfers.
- Equipment maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Testing of system safety devices.
- Periodic inspections of tanks, valves, or piping, and other quality control tasks related to an asphalt facility.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to meet all physical requirements.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willing and able to respond within approximately a 45-minute drive of the St. Paul terminal.
- Physical ability to frequently stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, reach, handle, bend, twist, climb, and balance; lift up to 50 pounds (frequently 25 pounds).
- Ability to respond to audio alarms or other loud noises; work near moving mechanical parts; work in wet or humid conditions; outdoor weather; high, precarious places; and around fumes or airborne particles and chemicals.
Nice to Have
- Two years or more of operations/maintenance experience in a storage terminal.
- A two-year technical or mechanical degree.
- Experience in a bulk storage terminal and/or pipeline operation.
- Mechanical, electrical, or process work experience.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $25 - $30 per hour. This role is eligible for variable pay as a monetary bonus or similar.

- Flexible 9/80 schedule with potential for every other Friday off, depending on workload.
