About this role
The Materials Operator 1 is an entry-level role at Intuitive Surgical in Mexicali, Mexico. This position provides basic materials handling support to production operations and internal customers. After initial orientation, the role includes training to perform storage, preparation, and replenishment of parts as needed.
Responsibilities
- Handle, verify, move and manage materials quickly, efficiently and accurately.
- Process materials and verify part number, quantity, and batch/serial number, including labeling and certifications.
- Follow the First In, First Out method when storing, picking up, and replenishing materials.
- Prepare and distribute materials for work orders and cover shortages.
- Follow the routes specified in the production plant to replenish materials.
- Use operations software to record data transactions (receipts, transfers, shipments).
- Maintain the safety and order of the warehouse in accordance with 5S principles.
- Operate material handling equipment (forklifts and pallet jacks) according to safety policy.
- Identify and communicate problems that disrupt the supply or movement of materials and that may affect the entire operation in Mexicali.
- Comply with materials management policies and procedures.
- Comply with employee training and registration requirements.
Requirements
- Preparatory education.
- Basic knowledge of warehousing, materials handling, and inventory control.
- Prior experience or certification in operating material handling equipment is a plus.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in performing tasks.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems (SAP experience is a plus).
- Ability to frequently lift heavy materials or equipment.
- Extensive walking and repetitive physical movements (bending, stooping, lifting objects) are required.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
