About the Role ACU seeks an Online MS-SLP Adjunct Faculty member for the ACU Dallas CHS Online Program. This remote role supports online students pursuing a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and reports to the Program Director for Online MS-SLP. The position is part of the faculty team dedicated to delivering high-quality online instruction within a Christ-centered university mission.
What You'll Do
- Provide high-quality instruction, direction, and support for students in the online classroom environment in the candidate’s area of expertise.
- Facilitate a range of class sizes, up to 30 students.
- Monitor student progress and report on mastery of learning outcomes and ASHA skills/standards.
- Provide timely and helpful answers to students’ inquiries.
- Be available for virtual meetings with students one-on-one or in groups; hold a minimum of two office hours per week.
- Facilitate and grade all assignments in a timely manner (within 24-72 hours).
- Enter final course grades after consultation with lead faculty and/or program director by CGPS deadline.
- Alert lead faculty or Program Director to any student issues (performance or policy violations).
- Comply with all pertinent policies and procedures in the university handbooks and program documents.
- Provide feedback to the program director for program/course improvement.
- Participate in faculty meetings as able.
- Attend/complete program and CGPS faculty training and provide credentialing/records updates as required.
- Other duties as assigned by lead faculty and/or Program Director.
- Consult with the Online MS-SLP Clinic Director and Program Director for integration of academic topics in residency experiences, as needed.
What We're Looking For
- A doctoral degree (PhD or EdD) in a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current ASHA CCC and active state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology in the state of residence.
- Previous online teaching experience in higher education strongly preferred.
- Computer literate in software and internet-based applications.
- Personal attributes: strong communication skills (written and oral), collaborative, outstanding organizational and project management abilities, self-motivated, problem solver, quick learner of new software, willingness to receive training/mentoring, and good judgment with students and colleagues.
- Ability to view and manage roles in relation to the larger mission and goals of the university.
Nice to Have
- Prior online teaching experience in higher education (strongly preferred).
- Experience with online learning platforms such as Canvas and Bridge.
