Job title: Online Adjunct, Gerontology
About the Role Liberty University seeks online adjunct faculty in Gerontology for the School of Health Sciences. This is a part-time, non-benefited, fully online position designed to deliver course content from the approved curriculum and support student success in an online environment.
What You'll Do
- Teach material from the approved curriculum in accordance with the assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction.
- Assist students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes.
- Provide regular and timely feedback to students.
- Participate in school retention initiatives by maintaining productive contact with students and by getting in touch with and offering assistance to absent students.
- Advise students in matters related to academics, attendance, and behaviors.
- Motivate students to participate in all aspects of the educational process actively.
- Maintain and report student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies.
- Maintain university standards regarding course activity, emails, grading, and communication with Instructional Mentor and students.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- PhD in Gerontology or MD in Geriatrics. All degrees must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Applicants must demonstrate a personal faith commitment to the university’s evangelical Christian purpose and full adherence to Liberty University's evangelical mission and doctrine.
- Familiarity with collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instruction.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to complete assignments timely and accurately with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff.
- Demonstrated strength or potential in teaching at the college level.

- Pay rate: $800 per load hour (hourly).
