About the Role
Taylor University is seeking an Online Adjunct Faculty member to teach one or more online courses. This part-time role delivers high-quality instruction through the university's Learning Management System (LMS) and fosters a student-centered online learning environment. Depending on term or program, the role may involve managing an independent study or collaborative study/cohort format, and must meet all accreditation standards outlined in the university’s Online Teaching Agreement.
What You'll Do
- Deliver online course content in accordance with the university’s guidelines, syllabus requirements, and the online course blueprint.
- Ensure course materials are up-to-date, links are functional, and the online gradebook is accurate.
- Engage in regular and substantive interaction with students, provide timely and meaningful feedback, support student success, and maintain a positive and inclusive online learning environment.
- Participate in assessments and quality assurance initiatives to improve online learning and ensure compliance; engage with TUO on course evaluations to make improvements and meet accreditation requirements.
- Collaborate with the Director of Online Learning, fellow team members, and individuals outside of the Online department to develop systems and initiatives that enhance the online student experience.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in a related discipline; terminal degree preferred.
- Experience teaching in higher education, especially in online or hybrid formats; familiarity with LMS platforms.
- Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to communicate effectively in digital formats and at a distance.
- Commitment to timely and substantive student engagement.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and comply with university and accreditation standards.
- Relational with a friendly demeanor; team player; growth mindset and adaptability.
Nice to Have
- Terminal degree (PhD/EdD or equivalent) is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation is based on the number of collaborative course sections taught or independent study course completers. This is a part-time role; specific benefits are not listed in the posting.
