Job title: Online Adjunct Faculty - Engineering
About the Role Liberty University seeks online adjunct faculty to teach engineering coursework across Civil, Industrial, Systems, Mechanical, and Engineering Management disciplines. Courses run asynchronously at undergraduate and graduate levels, in 8- or 16-week formats, with assignments scheduled at the instructor's request. Ideal candidates are academically strong professionals who can foster critical thinking and integrity aligned with Liberty's mission.
What You'll Do
- Teach from approved curriculum according to assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction.
- Provide regular and timely feedback; assist retention; advise students academically; monitor grades and attendance per policies.
- Motivate students; work effectively in a team; adhere to policies; other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Earned graduate degree or doctorate in Civil, Industrial, Systems, Mechanical, or Engineering Management.
- To teach at the baccalaureate level, minimum 18 graduate hours in the related discipline with experience desired; relevant certifications a plus.
- To teach at the Master’s level, minimum 18 graduate hours and terminal degree.
- 3–5 years teaching experience (classroom, online, or both) and 3–5 years applied experience in a related field.
- Strong communication skills; ability to communicate effectively in English; professional representation of Liberty University.
- Excellent organizational and computer/scheduling skills.
Nice to Have
- Relevant certifications are a definite plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Courses are typically paid at $800 per load hour.
