Your Job Flint Hills Resources is now hiring a One Call Technician in Wichita, KS. A successful candidate for this role will efficiently and accurately process State One Call excavation (call before your dig) requests using a business-specific one call and mapping software application pertaining to damage prevention of FHR owned and/or operated assets. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be a strong communicator and be detail oriented.
This position requires a flexible work schedule, Monday through Friday, working 8 hours within the window of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Additional hours may be required based on excavation needs, typically during April through October. These additional hours are primarily on weekdays but may occasionally include a holiday.

What You Will Do
- Problem-solve and properly address daily operational issues that may arise
- Problem-solve with FHR field operations personnel on information that is dispatched to field operations for further processing and data entry
- Efficiently and accurately enter and maintain all customer account data and activity in appropriate systems
- Provide accurate and timely follow through on all customer inquiries or correspondence requiring research
- Must be willing to cross-train on various systems
- Answer and process occasional inbound customer calls near pipeline facilities as specified, in a professional, courteous, and timely manner
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of customer service experience and/or training
- Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize multiple items in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- 1+ years of experience working with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word and the ability to learn to use proprietary applications
- Demonstrated experience accurately documenting, recording, and maintaining information with a high degree of attention to detail and minimal errors.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, while providing accurate information with customers, team members, and other stakeholders.
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including extended weekday hours and occasional weekends as business needs require.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Proficiency in analyzing maps using ArcView GIS mapping software
- Proficiency in IrthNet Utilisphere software
- One year of Safety / Damage Prevention experience
- Two-year Associate Degree (any combination of education and experience will be considered)
